Overview of the product Generators with a build-in electronic voltage regulator for 1958-1969 Big Twin and 1958-1981 XL models. Please observe descriptive text for 12 volt conversions. Will also fit 1936-1984 H-D when converting to 12 Volt. When replacing 65B generator (1982-Early 1984 Hitachi), add H-D #31035-58 oil deflector. Same gear can be re-used. NOTE: This 12V Generator is a special low amperage model that offers reduced charging voltage. Designed to be used for models with in-tank (horse shoe) batteries. Hot batteries have an increased chemical reaction and therefore draw a higher amperage which, in extreme situations, can cause overcharging and a boiling battery. This model will help prevent this.
